Tai Sunnanon

About Me


Over more than two decades, Tai Sunnanon has built a global business empire. He has a varied experience that he draws upon in all his endeavors, including teaching at the university level, writing and speaking professionally, and serving in the military. Because of his commitment to his principles and to bettering the lives of others, Exelon has named him one of the 100 Most Dynamic Leaders.

He has founded seven businesses throughout his career and oversees operations at two others. Sunnanon values effective leadership and works to embody those qualities in his daily interactions with others. These include self-awareness, genuineness, openness to ambiguity, and taking cues from teammates.
Current Functions

Sunnanon is a 2021 fellow at the U.S. Department of Defense and the Director of Technology Innovation. In addition, the Life Coach Expert is a provider of master life coach training programs. Sunnanon is also the founder and chief executive officer of Social Good Industries, LLC, which he characterizes as a socially responsible product company. Companies and individuals alike can benefit from these initiatives, as they aid in the formation of more effective plans for achieving desired outcomes and obtaining fulfillment from work and daily activities.

Tai Sunnanon is an officer in the United States Air Force Reserve, and in this capacity, he oversees the personnel services provided to the base's more than 4,000 service members.

Work Experience

Sunnanon has been a professor at Harvard University and a visiting scholar at several other universities, including American University, Tel Aviv University, UC Berkeley, the University of Vienna, and Vanderbilt University, where he taught courses on social entrepreneurship and adaptive leadership.

Sunnanon served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Palau and then as a teacher for at-risk and homeless adolescents before deciding to pursue higher education. By working with the Peace Corps to promote small company growth in underserved areas, he could put his entrepreneurial spirit to good use while serving his country.

Some of my other projects have included working with Sea Vit to address vitamin deficiencies in Southeast Asia and with General Lighting and Electric to supply the lighting needs of influential organizations.

Sunnanon has launched seven businesses in addition to all of his other endeavors, some of which include Social Good Industries and The Life Coach Expert.

An Overview of My Educational and Academic Background

In addition to earning his Master of Education and Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Harvard Kennedy School, Sunnanon obtained his doctorate in social entrepreneurship from Harvard University in 2012. He attended UC Los Angeles for his undergraduate education and graduated with a B.A. in political science.

Abilities and Experience in the Field

Sunnanon has spent a great deal of time on global development projects and his responsibilities inside his own company and other positions. In more than 15 nations, including Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Micronesia, Guam, Saipan, and the Solomon Islands, he has led international development projects and collaborations to promote sustainable economic growth. Along the way, he gained the expertise he now shares with others at speaking engagements worldwide and won national accolades for his services.

Other work-related activities include participation in the U.N.'s Committee on Social Innovation.

Volunteering and Giving to Charity

Tai Sunnanon is involved in numerous charity events and campaigns locally and nationally. He often gives money to groups like the National Peace Corps Association, the Red Cross, and LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.

Awards

One of the premier global venues for leaders and entrepreneurs to share their stories, Exelon named Tai Sunnanon one of the 100 Most Dynamic Leaders in 2021. The same year he received this honor, he was also selected as a Fellow by the United States Department of Defense.

Sunnanon was featured on the cover of Exelon and hailed as a global social entrepreneur and Renaissance man for his dedication to personal ideals and his ability to rise to the top of his field by working alongside industry leaders. Furthermore, Exelon emphasized Sunnanon's attempts to disseminate this message through the speaking circuit.

The National Peace Corps 40 Under 40 Award, Presidential Scholar, Julius E. Babbitt Fellowship, Ash Fellowship in Innovations, Education Pioneers Award, and U.S. Military Community Service Award are just a few national innovation honors he has received over his career.

Hobbies and Interests

Tai Sunnanon has mastered eight tongues and plans to keep learning for the rest of his life. For the past quarter century, he has worked tirelessly to acquire the knowledge and abilities needed to succeed as an entrepreneur and hone his ability to educate, mentor, and inspire others to do the same.
